Want to be the next Coco Chanel? Then this subject is for you! Design skills provides a background in 2D and 3D design practices with specific design techniques explored. You will learn how to sew, how to draw, how to use Adobe InDesign and other useful aspects of the design process.

 

This subject aims to develop and enhance creativity, artistic self-confidence, and problem solving skills. Design will also give students a broader awareness of the role visual arts can play in a historical, contemporary and local context.

Assessment:

  • Assessment Type 1: Specialised Skills Tasks (40%)
  • Assessment Type 2: Design Process and Product (60%)

Pathways:

This course will prepare the students for Stage 2 Fashion, Textiles and Materials and also provide students with handy skills that they can use in general life. It also supports learning for other SACE subjects such as Visual Arts—Art, Digital Photography and Design Solutions.
