Design Solutions is for students with an interest in design (industrial or artistic), architecture, prosthetic design, computer animation, interior design or engineering. As part of the course students will learn to use CAD (computer aided design) software, the 3D printer and the laser cutter, all of which are highly employable skills across many careers. Students will learn about different aspects of design and testing of materials and products, and then will use these skills to design and make products of their choice. The course also investigates the suitability of different materials from sustainability, ethical, legal and economic perspectives.
Students do not need experience with the software programs as those skills will be taught as part of the course.
