Stage 1 Chemistry is about learning the key concepts of the subject while understanding the importance of Chemistry in our everyday lives. Almost everything that we do has a link to Chemistry, and it is vital in helping with solutions to problems such as climate change, pollution, metal production for electric vehicles and development of new medications. Stage 1 Chemistry is a prerequisite for Stage 2 Chemistry. Students wishing to pursue further study in Chemistry in tertiary institutions can do so in a wide range of fields. Students may choose to study a Bachelor of Science to gain further knowledge of a range of concepts, and can pursue more specific areas of study such as drug delivery and design, environmental science, materials development and food and drink manufacturing and more.
