Are you interested in how all types of media shapes our world? Then consider Media Studies!

 

The focus of Media Studies is on exploring the dynamic role of media in Australian and global contexts. You’ll understand the ways in which media provide views of world events, interpretations of the world, and entertainment. There is a chance to make your own products and interact with a range of media products.

 

There is no exam in this topic, however you will need to produce a 2000 word Investigation, as well as two film productions (a commercial and a documentary of your choice). The topics that we will be study include: Documentaries, Cult Television and Film, and Advertising and Audiences.

Assessment:

School Assessment (70%)

  • Assessments types will include Essays, Interaction and Film Productions

 

External Assessment (30%)

  • Assessment Type: Investigation (30%)

Media Studies provides a rigorous grounding for those seeking to pursue content development and creative production in fields that include: Film Making, CGI, Journalism, Publishing and Photography.
