Information Processing and Publishing covers two topics – business documents and desktop publishing with the focus on learning about the layout and design of printed documents as well as using the advanced functions of software packages such as MS Word and Adobe InDesign. You will be learning practical skills to provide creative solutions to text-based tasks using Adobe InDesign software. There are 5 practical skills tasks for which you will produce products such as stationery sets, newsletters and menus. There are also 2 Issues Analysis tasks about social issues and technical issues related to information processing and publishing.

 

There is an external assessment task where you demonstrate the design process of investigating, devising, producing and evaluating to produce a final product (1,500 words) of a mock-up of sections of a magazine on a topic of your own choice. There is no SACE examination in this subject.

School Assessment (70%)

  • Assessment Type 2: Issues Analysis (30%)

 

External Assessment (30%)

  • Assessment Type 3: Product and Documentation
