In Economics we explore the economic problem, microeconomics (concepts pertaining to enterprise and industry), macroeconomics (exploring the Australian economy), globalisation and poverty and inequality. We will view problems from technical, theoretical and analytical perspectives, using models to explain economic phenomenon.
Assessment will comprise of five school-based components and an external examination. Folio Tasks comprises of a range of tests and essays covering the core curriculum. The Folio will allow students to research and explore contemporary economic issues in greater depth. The Economic Project is a student led analysis of a question or issue and should be presented in a creative or innovative way.

This subject is accepted for entry to tertiary courses including university courses. It is broadly based and also provides ideal preparation for entry to careers associated with business and social science. Students learn how to solve complex real world issues on a local, national and global level.
